Animals of the Chinese Zodiac
Below are a few simple explainations of each of the Animals in the Chinese Zodiac. Rat

The first sign in the Chinese Zodiac, the rat is an expert in survival and staying clear of danger. They work smarter, not harder, and prefer busy work to grand plans. Rats are familial and like a sense of community and family, and are great with other peoples money but not necessarily their own. Rats love to learn new things, but can be sneaky and hate being left out.
Ox

The big presence of the Ox speaks of someone grounded and earthy. Oxen are mental leaders, they are capable of shoulders the load. Traditional by nature, they tend to be practical, hard-workders who would rather get it done alone. This courage and calm animal can easily become stubborn, judemental, and difficult to get close to.
Tiger

Action-oriented, assertive, agressive, charismatic, and confident are words that describe a Tiger. Tiger's see the world in black and white - he is not a fence-sitter. Motivated by the reward, a Tiger will wait for a big payout before exerting his energy. They enjoy their luxury, but when they get upset they can become indifferent, selfish, and overpowering.
Rabbit

The busy Rabbit is a diplomat. Healers by nature, they symbolize new life and show tender compassion and sensitivity easily. Rabbits are easy to confide in and value sincerity. They love children and animals and are gifted at judging charcter. Prone to sensory overload, the Rabbit can be overcautious, moody, and insecure - second-guessing themselves often.
Dragon

Dragon lives outside the confines of humantiy - he is a Dragon, after all. They can seem narcissistic, but are usually just misunderstood. Dragon's are drawn to the exotic and unknown, and are idealistic and extroverted. For them, life is either a joy or a tragedy, but they are here to experience both to the fullest. This lucky animal can be unattached and temptermental.
Snake

The Snake experiences the world differently - with it's belly on the ground. They are incredibly intuitive and tuned into the vibrations of the earth. Like the shedding of skin, Snakes require constant change and release of old. They learn through observation, preferring to listen. Prone to quiet superiority, Snake will strike quickly without warning and can be manipulative to get what they want.

"Don't cage me in!" - This is the mantra of the Horse. Spontanious, free-spirited, and unpredictable, Horses need space to share their strong opinions and connect with the outdoors. They can take time to trust, and love to follow the latest trends and gossip. If a Horse doesn't like the way a conversation is going they're quick to bolt, and they can be self-centered and unpredictable.
Sheep

Sheep have a love for simple pleasures. They are gentle, spiritual, and charming. Sheep deal well with problems, and sometimes are labeled the "peacemaker". They have a strong desire to assist others and love to be a part of a community. Sheep are sensitive about what is going on around them, which can make them struggle to make decisions, often looking to another for guidance.
Monkey

The perpetual entertainer, Monkey is playful, curious, and great with their hands. While they don't lack compassion, they can lack empathy and have difficulty putting themselves in someone else's shoes. Extremely clever, Monkey's can talk their way out of anything and usually find a better way to get things done. Unpredicable, they can be frivolous and michievous.
Rooster

The king of the hen-house, the Rooster wants to be heard. Intelligent, self-assured, and outspoken they are always willing to offer their point of view. Roosters believe in a pecking order, and have a strong drive to prove themselves as a powerful leader. Roosters enjoy social activity, but need to be in control and often doesn't listen to much-needed advice.
Dog

To serve and protect - this is the code the Dog lives by. They are fiercly loyal and take concern for those they are directly responsible for. The Dog doesn't take kindly to lying or betrayal, and has strong dedication to their career. Energetic, intelligent, and courageous, they have a fear of abandonment and can be anxious which can lead to some aggression.
Pig

Among the nicest people you will ever meet are Pigs. They bring happiness into their home, and love to invite friends and family into their happiness. They have high tolerance - sometimes too high - which can cause them to be easily tricked. Pigs are charming and willing to do anything for anybody. They can become over-indulgent and lazy, and unable to self-reflect.
